SkyHigh Music was established in 1996 by founders Martin Briones, Ian Aragon and Joseph Black. With hopes of discovering a way to achieve and maintain quality music which showcases their versatility, SkyHigh Music was born.
The SkyHigh Music family consists of talented musicians, producers, engineers, songwriters, and artists, resulting in a rare commodity, ready to be heard by all. SHM boasts characteristics that promote upward mobility and longevity. SkyHigh Music encompasses base elements intensely mixed, creating original music that is as diverse as its members. Mixing samples with live instrumentation, SHM displays a wide creative palette with endless possibilty. SHM presents raw, clever lyrics. Inspired by everything from classic Soul and Hip-Hop to World music & Rock, SHM delivers a humble offering of true music to true music lovers. SkyHigh Music masters to balance the edgy and rugged sound of the streets with the timing, precision, and execution of an orchestra, all without compromising its appeal.
In 2004, to expand their network, clientele and fan base, SkyHigh Music relocated to Jersey City, New Jersey. Family and friends were established in the area, and adding entrepreneur and family member, Jerome Jardinano, as their manager came naturally.Jersey City's own Hitchcock (formerly of the A Team) Casino, a young & cocky MC from the Bronx, NY, and VA representers, the Young Assassins, were also significant additions to the family. With production work with artists such as Ice T, Flo Sick, Ali Vegas, Quan, & Lumidee, SkyHigh is starting to spread their sound. SHM began modestly with a four track recorder, a simple drum machine, and a dream to create music for the soul, which has now grown to possess two studios: the main location in Jersey City, NJ and the other in their hometown of Virginia Beach, VA.
Aside from just making records, Team SkyHigh has worked on and been involved in many different aspects of music & media. Ranging from movie scores (Three21 Films), video games (College Hoops '07), and commercials(Chevrolet '06) to fashion shows (Fashion week '07). Sky High Music is currently shopping their trademark sound to music professionals. They are also seeking to continue to collaborate with existing artists and plan to start their own record label in the near future.
