Skiesfalling

Skiesfalling is an Austin, TX band with a musical vision tied to the very root of what Austin represents, with its heart in the progressive psyche laden foundations from the past with the ideology of pushing it forward, and "letting go" into the future. Skiesfalling's music is very thought provoking, expansive, consciously transforming and transcendent, and hits the deepest root of our psyche and emotive composition. Outside the home base as a live musical experience Skiesfalling's music has also found a home in the film community including independent films, 'Last Days of America' & 'When is Tomorrow' (Mo-Freek Filmworks Kevin Ford, Angela Bettis, Eddie Steeples), 'Roman' directed by Lucky McKee and Angela Bettis, and more recently music for the documentary 'Manufacturing of Fast Food Nation' directed by Kevin Ford about the making of Richard Linklater's latest film 'Fast Food Nation' ~EXPEP Series~ Inspired by Sonic Youth's SYR series the EXPEP series will feature completely improvised pieces with no pre-conceptions mostly in the more experimental vein of Skiesfalling, also usually with smaller groups of the band. Thus far all of the material has been in the studio live sessions without any kind of post-production or overdubbing etc. The DIY ethic of the band also lended that although the recordings are not perfect, nor is the sound quality perfect, some of the music was just right, and too important to let sit aside. The EXPEP series will embody the true nature of creation, emotion, natural spontaneity, and the pure organic experience of collaborating musically just "letting go".
