Skewered

Skewered is a brutal grinding death metal band from Dublin/Athlone/Kildare in Ireland. The band formally started in 2003 under the name Necrosis playing standard death metal ala Cannibal Corpse and Deicide, with a line up of Mark Dolan (vocals), Luke Geoghegan (guitars), Freddy Walsh (guitars) and Salvador Maguire (bass). The band had no steady drummer in place until Conor McClancey joined in early 2005. After a string of successful gigs and a recording of an unreleased demo the band suffered its first set back with Conor leaving the band in early '06
After months of searching, Fred put down his guitar and replaced it with the drum kit. Practice continued with the band tightening up the sound. Later that year, Luke left the band due to personal reasons, but with a drive to move on, the band dawned a search for a new guitarist and a new musical direction. Andy Sweeney (Pulverise, ex Immersed In Dread) entered the fold in November 06 and with that the band went in a heavier direction and a name change; Skewered was formed. a demo of old Necrosis material (Homegrown Brutality) was released in December 06, which recieved mixed reviews.
The band started gigging again in January 07, after 2 years of writing and gigging the band entered Trackmix studio to record the first release of new material (and with a full line-up) in March of 09; in the form of a 4 track promo, which recieved great local reviews.
The band recorded the 1st full length album in September 2010, once again in Trackmix, which is as yet unreleased. In December of 2010 Freddy left the band due to other commitments and Jazzer joined the band on a full time basis in early 2011. Gigs are scheduled at home and abroad along with the release of the 1st album in 2011.
Skewered have shared the stage with Prostitute Disfigurement, Unleashed, Disgorge (Mex), Desecration, Belphegor, Putrefy, Abaddon Incarnate, Warpath , Overoth, Morphosis, Slave Zero and For Ruin along with many other local acts.
