01 skapsom

Initially coming from Angers, in the West of France, Skapsom was a three piece band playing ska and punk mixed with hardcore. Skal (vocals/guitar), Befa (vocals/bass) and Clax (drums/back vocals) formed the band in 2003 and decided to mix different styles of music. Their first album, Irreversible?

(November 2005), presents 8 songs of their powerful style. The lyrics, written in English, deal with environmental problems, violence, power abuse. The style is influenced by bands such as Choking Victim or Antimaniax.



In January 2007, Clax decided to leave the band that is why Skal and Befa were looking for new members. They did not want to stop the band there after all the energy they have put in the band and because, above all, for them skapunk hardcore is more than music. At the time, Befa proposed to

Alex and Fab to join the band in order to continue Skapsom’s history. By the way, Alex (guitar/vocals) and Fab (drums) are now playing in Skapsom. This second guitar offers many possibilities and

Skapsom wants to show this new line-up on stage.



Skapsom is currently playing shows in the region of Paris and in some other towns in France. They’re going to figure on the international compilation on Beer Records (Riot Ska II) and on the tribute to Choking Victim.

Formé en 2003, Skapsom fut initialement composé de Skal (chant/guitare), Befa (chant/basse) et Clax (batterie). Ces trois membres jouaient dans d’autres groupes avant de se consacrer exclusivement à Skapsom. Plus qu’une rencontre de trois amis c’est également un « melting-pot » de plusieurs styles musicaux différents. Après plusieurs débats scéniques dans leurs groupes respectifs, cette rencontre a vu naître une envie de faire quelque chose de plus abouti en intégrant au maximum les diverses influences. Le résultat est un skapunk hardcore engagé avec des chants en anglais.

"Irreversible?" est le titre de leur premier CD composé de 8 titres aux influences diverses. Cette auto-production enregistrée en studio en août 2004 est disponible depuis novembre 2005 grâce à l’aide de Beer Records. Skapsom se reconnaît dans les valeurs défendues par le crack rock en traitant dans leurs chansons de thèmes diverses tels que la misère, les problèmes environnementaux, le pouvoir abusif, la violence ou encore les médias.

En janvier 2007, Clax décida de quitter le groupe. Déçu de s’arrêter en si bon chemin Skal et Befa cherchèrent un nouveau batteur. C’est finalement Alex (guitare/chant) et Fab (batterie) qui intégrèrent le groupe. Cette deuxième guitare offre de nouvelles possibilités que Skapsom ne demande désormais qu’à montrer en concert.

Cette année, Skapsom va participer à la deuxième compile internationale « Riot ska vol.2 » ainsi qu’au « tribute To Choking Victim » produits par Beer Records.(à venir)
