BIO ITALIANO:
Gli Ska-j suonano musica jazz interpretata in stile
afro-jamaicano (jazz-jamaica).
Il live della band è prevalentemente in acustico eseguito
da voci, batteria, contrabbasso, chitarra, due sax, un
trombone e un organo Hammond.
Gli ska-j hanno suonato in diverse televisioni sia nazionali
che locali (RAI, ROCKTV, SKY, ALLMUSIC), nelle radio
nazionali e network: i più importanti Caterpillar
radioRAI2 e per Venezia Suona radioRAI1. La qualità della
proposta musicale ne fa uno dei gruppi più trasmessi nelle
radio europee dedicate al jazz e allo musica jamaicana. Sin
dalla fondazione (2002) il gruppo ha suonato più di 400
concerti in Italia e in Europa, e nei migliori festival
indifferentemente jazz, rock o reggae (Rototom Sunsplash,
Rafanass, UbiJazz, Fiemme Ski Jazz).
Un sondaggio del MEI (Meeting delle Etichette Indipendenti)
ha annoverato il brano Santamarta come uno dei otto brani
dialettali più amati in Italia degli ultimi 20 anni.
Nell'anno appena cominciato gli Ska-J hanno collaborato con
il Gruppo Alcuni per la realizzazioni delle musiche per il
cartoon "Il Codice di Marco Polo" per 01Distribution.
Durante il Carnevale di Venezia hanno presentato il cd live
triplo DAL VIVO CON AMORE registrato durante l'estate 2009.
La trasmissione Caterpillar (RadioRai) ha inserito il cd
VENICE GOES SKA tra i migliori album degli ultimi 10 anni.

Ska-j plays jazz music in afro-jamaican style (
jazz-jamaica). Our live show features two tenor sax,
trombone, guitar, doublebass, hammond, male and female
vocalists.
Ska-j from 2003 have appeared in the most important italian
and european music festivals, both jazz, rock or reggae (
Rototom Sunsplash, Rafanass, UbiJazz, Fiemme Ski Jazz) and
bring their music and humor in the most important national
television and radio network (RAI, ROCKTV, SKY, ALLMUSIC,
CATERPILLAR).
In 2009 MEI ( italian meeting of indie labels) recognize the
song 'Santamarta' as one of the eigh most important dialect
song of last 20 years.
The new year has start with two important releases: the
cartoon-movie ' CUCCIOLI - IL CODICE DI MARCO POLO' with 2
song of the soundtrack played and arranged by Ska-j and the
new triple live album 'DAL VIVO CON AMORE', containing two
hours of the best music we have played trough the years
recorded live during our last summer tour.
Last news: Caterpillar (RADIORAI) insert our first album
VENICE GOES SKA (2003) among the best ten indie album of the
last ten years.
