So here I am, back in Arizona. I'm currently jamming with the 2 TONE LIZARD KINGS (a KILLER, super KICK ASS SKA band) and anyone else who is interested in spreading the jam;-)However, I've been in a few bands over the past 20 years.The one I take the most pride in is "PlaidStone" which started in mid 93 and lasted till late 02. It was one hell of a ride.I miss it.
I had been playing mostly acoustic these days,but I still found time to saddle up my Strat and piss off my neighbors. Now, I am, have been, and will be, spending most of my free time standing in front of my stereo learning the large volume of material that is the library of songs played by the 2 TONE LIZARD KINGS. I love to play quiet little jams in my living room and around the campfire for myself, my family, and friends. Recently I have started putting together 3 hours of acoustic cover songs so I can start picking up small gigs a couple of nights a week and get back out there doing the things I love and do best. The problem is that I enjoy creating more the imitating and always get sidetracked jamming new riffs. I am looking forward to meeting good players of all kinds and putting together a product that is not only original, but creatively inspiring, and catchy enough to sell. "MAKE A PRODUCT, SUPPORT THE PRODUCT" is my latest motto I plan to put together a killer collection of fresh tunes, arrange and record them until they make a perfect little audio odyssey, put together with some nice artwork and visual imagery and sell, sell, sell. If it sells, then put a band together of musicians who not only like the product but believe in its potential.
The songs I am featuring at this time are off the "APPETIZER" CD (the last studio recording Plaidstone did in 1999) featuring Brandon Bryant and Mike Reddell from the second generation PlaidStone. The album that they were intended for never was completed as we went our separate ways before we could finish the rest of the material. I think it would have been a nice piece of work and wish we could have finished it. The song "FEELINGS" (which is not on the Appetizer EP) is a piece that I have been playing since my junior year in high school 1990. I threw some back up guitar tracks and a cheesy drum machine track on it in 2007 for fun to see what it would sound like."LOST" and "Broken" are rough ideas that were recorded as a basic structure of some songs to come. Their names are not necessarily what they will be when the lyrics take their place. We will see how they turn out. "FORGOTTEN" is a rough recording that is waiting to be finished as well. I don't have quality recording gear so the quality is not that of a pro studio but it works for now.
I've decided that it might be cool to let EVERYONE LEAVE A COMMENT on what they like and what they don't. This way I can get out side input on what I'm doing right or wrong by the opinion of the masses. Be honest good or bad ,I can take it. Besides, I'm going to do what I want any way, I just think there are some really good ideas out there. ENJOY.
