Since Our First Guitar is our humble rock n’ roll band. We are primarily friends, but since we like playing music together it is appropriate to consider us a band.
I think it’s been at least five years of hanging out in our barn, puzzling scraps of music into songs and recording them in whatever way possible.
A couple of years ago we remodeled our old rickety barn with some new walls, a giant window, a bunch of mic pre-amps, an old tape machine and as many accessories we could lay our hands on at our local flea markets. We named her Discrete Motion Recordings and in 2009, when we’d done numerous live shows, we felt the urge to lock ourselves in. To finish and to record the songs that had been liyng on the tip of our tongue for a long time. Try to make something to be proud of.
"Sound of Trees" is our debut LP.
2010 meant packing up the studio and saying goodbye to everything we just got used to: the countryside, our friend and housecat Woodstock, the creaking walls of the barn. We loaded a huge but very old and hardly functioning van and drove to the city.
The city of Malmoe is where we now reside. We have set up new headquarters in a former factory, Wramborgs Strumpfabrik, and we can't be happier about it.
We also released two new songs, the two last songs we recorded in the barn. "Routine" is our goodbye to what we used to do and our welcome to what will be.
