Although he was born in the north of Atlantic City , New Jersey ; Rocklyn Ellis-- aka Rock-- grew up in the west of Orlando , Florida . Through the years of high school he discovered his love for hip-hop; from battling in the streets of Pine Hills to the school’s cafeteria and Pep Rallies. In return the love and respect that he received made it his mission to pursue his music career. Stemming from the streets of Orlando , Florida it was a rocky and rugged road to follow your dreams. With crime rates rising which made it hard to stay focus, no support for locals, and also no music outlet. It was than that Rock started turning all life experience into the lyrics of his music. Inspired by Jay-Z, he began memorizing his lyrics and recording tracks in a home studio. The records would eventually make its way to the underground Dream Team 97.1 radio station. Rock’s first single “Catch Me in Da Hood” stayed in rotation on Orlando ’s local underground station. It was frequently requested and listeners kept the jams lines busy. The underground played a big part in his early career; warning rappers, A&R’s, DJ’s and etc.There’s a new Ruler. Than Rock dropped his second single “Posted Up”, given the recognition Rock is known as the king of “Street Battling” and also the king of the “Underground”. Rock (CEO of record label Silent Movement) will soon be heard coast to coast with his mixtape being release in the summer of 2007.
