Over the past year or so, we've heard a lot from people about when and if we're going to make a comeback. Needless to say most of the former band members have gone their separate ways, but being the only two original members left, myself (Matt) and Steve feel as though the project can be revived. We've been working tirelessly to produce the same kind of heartfelt music that Silence the Sanity has been known for, and although the going has been slow, it's still been going. The main reason being is that the musician pickings are pretty sparse lately, so we've decided to keep the lineup to myself and Steve, and digitally produce whatever other instruments we may need. Fortunately, going this route has already opened up new doors that we never had the chance to walk through as a full band.

So with that being said, we're revamping everything: New material, new styles, new layout, and possibly even a new name. But the one thing that won't change is why we're here. We're not out to compete or to try to be the best, and we're not trying to get famous and leave our roots behind. We're only here to make music that (hopefully) everyone can (still) enjoy. We care about this band, and all of our loyal fans who have often expressed their feelings about us going our separate ways, to let this die.

On a final note, we're hard at work recording some material for the site, as well as what will eventually be our backing tracks for live shows. There's no way I could possibly give a time frame as to when we'll hit the scene again, but we hope you'll stick around for us until we do. As of this point, we've got a completely re-tooled version of our immortal intro song (happy 4th birthday!), our first song exploring our new style called "Renaissance," and the last song I wrote for the old STS that never made it to the stage called "Fail As One." We have a few more untitled songs in the works and we'll update you whenever we can, so keep checking back!

UPDATE 1: Whether we make it back to the stage or not, we are currently at work finishing writing, and starting recording our EP of new material. The order of the songs is as follows:

1. The Sound and the Fury

2. Renaissance

3. Fail as One

4. [+1 TBA]

That will be the general layout for the EP, but I am currently at work trying to compile an instrumedley of sorts, taking pieces from all of our old songs to (hopefully) ultimately have one big epic jam session. And again, whether or not this material makes it to the stage, this EP will be released. It's hard to say at this point, but if the recording goes well, I think it's safe to say that the release date could be as early as January 1, 2010. Thank you all for the support and keep checking back!
