Who We Are & What We Are About

Silenced is a rock quartet based out of Myrtle Beach, SC. Our musical influences

stem from many bands, from classics such as Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd to contemporaries

like Radiohead and U2. It's hard to pinpoint our sound, but we hope that we

sound like nothing in particular. Perhaps an eclectic blend of the past, present

and future of music. Silenced is currently in the studio working on our second

full-length album. We have spent the past seven years making records and touring

around the south-east. It is our belief that writing and performing music is

about feeling something real. something natural. Silenced will be here and

active as long as that feeling exists. Thank you for your support.

A Brief Look Back & Forward

Silenced was formed in August of 2001 as a 3-piece band. Jeremy Dunham and Michael

Pridgen played their current roles along with Colin Bowman on bass. It was with

this line-up that Silenced released their first EP, Manipulate, and

full-length album, Changes. In the spring 2003, guitarist Jody Lewis

joined the effort and added a new diversity to the sound. Not long after, Bowman

left the band and was replaced by Phil Dunham, the brother of vocalist Jeremy.

In September of 2004, Silenced released their second EP, Pieces. During

this time, the band would mature and grow into much more of a working artist.

Touring, airplay, and merchandise were becoming frequently used phrases. In

December of 2005, Silenced made their way to Memphis, TN to work with producer Pete Matthews on, Exits. To capture their sonic vision, they

relied upon the wonders of the legendary Ardent Studios and its resident producer,

Matthews. Released in early 2006, this EP was mainly used as a promotional tool

in hopes to vault the band into the industry spotlight. Unfortunately, the band took

a bit of a detour with the unexpected loss of bassist Phil Dunham in September

of 2006. He was replaced a month later by local native Josh Sewell, but the pressure and monotony had been building up for quite some time. Silenced

needed a break, some time to regroup and refresh. During the first half of 2007,

the band went through some transformations, changing the way they wrote songs

and manipulating their overall sound. By the time the summer had come, Silenced

had emerged from it's cocoon with an entirely new entourage of tunes and tones.

Production on the new album started in late 2007 and continues now in 2008 with the newest addition to the team, bassist John Spulka.
