>>>Last Updated on.7.23.08As the reggaeton movement continues to expand, there have been multitudes who have tried to excel and reach the top and many who have sadly fallen back; many of whom began by inspiration. Having Salvadorian parents and being raised in Hyattsville, Maryland, USA, "Siklio" began his musical career as a reggaeton/r&b/rap artist at the age of 14. Inspired by modern artists of 2006 such as Rakim y Ken-Y, Arcangel y De La Ghetto, Baby Rasta, and many more, Siklio began writing lyrics as a hobby. After coming in contact with various underground artists throughout the web, a new level was introduced into Siklio's hobby; taking his lyrics and interpreting them in reggaeton beats. At this point in time, Siklio met Dj Lj, now formerly known as Bugz. With the help of Bugz, an underground record label was created, one which slowly grew in popularity; Uptown Music Entertainment. Musically competing against other local record labels, Uptown Music Ent. started with a 5-man crew. Over time the group gradually became a solid group of 3 members; Dj Lj, Siklio, and Dj Lobo. In between the gradual change, Uptown Music Ent. linked up with Eliseo - a new talent from Maryland, and Paye y Stilo along with D'Fresh - a group of artists from New York that go by the name of PYS. Siklio and this new alliance of artists worked together on various collaborations and on September of 2006, Descubriendo El Flow "the mixtape" was released, containing various singles such as "Mystika" by Eliseo and Siklio, as well as "Ya Dimelo" by Stilo and D'Fresh. The mixtape was well accepted by the public and fans. Also, Siklio's support dramatically increased during this time period. Throughout the next couple of months, Siklio grew in recognition. On November of 2006, Siklio got a chance to appear on stage with a collaboration he did with Joe Angel to the song called "Sympatica" at Majestics Night Club in Virginia. At this point, Uptown Musik decided to join Royal Family; a group of local artists from Maryland. Gaining positive feedback from his performance, Siklio later began to perform at various venues throughout Maryland and Virginia, such as Boqueron 2 in Rockville MD (Nov.), Pegaso Night Club in Rockville MD (Dec.), Mexico Lindo in Virginia (Jan.), Club 51 in Rockville MD (Feb.), and most importantly, in an opening for Chosen Few at Majestics Night Club in Virginia (Jan.). While gaining popularity throughout various events, Bugz and Siklio, as well as Royal Family created a compilation to what became known as Los Duenos Del Sonido "El Comienzo A Su Final" mixtape and released it on February of 2007, containing exclusive collaborations by the Royal Family. While this project was taking place, Siklio began working on his second solo mixtape which was called "Al Nuevo Nivel”. It was released in May of 2007. This new mixtape artistically proved a new change of professionalism in the music written and composed by Siklio. It brought out a new perspective in how people viewed his talent. This allowed him to gradually take his music a step above the underground level. The recognition from this second mixtape was by far the highest amount of recognition throughout his music career. During the fall of 2007, Siklio was featured on "La Nueva Era," a mixtape organized by NME records. This was a point in time when a new style of musik was experimented by Siklio. He began working on his third mixtape, ultimately treating it as his first official mixtape: Evolucion Musical; to be launched in summer of 2008. While workin on the mixtape, Siklio became introduced to Italo Hengzts, a producer from germany, and began to work on the project with him. The idea of bringing a techno/synthesizer style and aspect to many of his new creations, made Siklio fully develop Evolucion Musical as a true musical evolution. As of today, the project has been the first project in which original beats were used. Now in present day of 2008, Siklio is promoting the mixtape: Evolucion Musical. Future plans are being arranged for the release of a special edition of the Evolucion Musical mixtape and also for two mixtapes that will launch sometime in 2009; one of them being his fourth mixtape: Inteligencia Artificial.
