SICOTRÓPICO

Sicotrópico es un Power Trío conformado por músicos de la Costa Caribe Colombiana, que con guitarra, bajo y batería, toman las bases del folklore, el jazz, la salsa, el funk, el rock y la música del mundo produciendo una mezcla de ritmos y cadencias traducidas en tres instrumentos. La banda nace en el 2005, y desde entonces ha participado en varios festivales del país, cerrando el Festival de Rock al Parque en el mismo año y siendo merecedores del Premio Nacional de Composición otorgado por el Ministerio de Cultura de Colombia. Han participado en proyectos audiovisuales realizando música para cine, en proyectos culturales ofreciendo talleres concierto y sus integrantes han sido jurados en festivales y realizado talleres en diferentes partes del país. En el año 2009 sacaron al mercado su primer álbum que lleva el mismo nombre “Sicotrópico”. Aproximadamente Sicotrópico realiza 40 conciertos anuales.

En un momento en el que la escena musical colombiana se ha inundado de propuestas de fusión electrónico y sus diferentes variaciones, Sicotrópico se presenta con un estilo visceral y diferente en su composición que da cuenta de una interpretación musical magistral, despertando el interés y la critica positiva de reconocidos expertos nacionales e internacionales, consolidándose en la escena independiente nacional. Actualmente se preparan para iniciar una gira por diferentes países comenzando en este año 2010.

SICOTRÓPICO

Sicotrópico is a Power Trio composed by Caribbean Colombian musicians, who take the “folklore”, jazz, salsa, funk, rock and world music, making a mix of rhythms and cadences played by three instruments: Guitar, Bass and Drums. The band was created in 2005 and since that time has participated in several festivals around the country, closing “Rock al Parque Festival” (Rock to the park festival) in the same year and winning the National Award of composition given by the Cultural Ministry of Colombia. They have also participated in few audiovisual projects by making their music and in cultural projects by making some concerts workshops. Furthermore, their integrants have participated as jury of festivals and have made workshops all over the country. In 2009, they launched their first album called of the same name as the band Sicotrópico. The band plays over 40 concerts a year.

Nowadays were Colombian music scene has been flooded by Electronic fusion projects and their variations, Sicotrópico keeps strong with a new and visceral style of compositions that demonstrated a masterful musical performance achieving good critics and interest from national and internationals experts, positioning Sicotrópico as one of the most important bands of the independent national music scene.
