Sibil Da Unsivil

and all of herselves

Sibil, originally known as “Raa-D the Whiplasha” got her start in Hip-Hop in the 90’s. At the time she resided in Newark (Brick City), New Jersey with the rest of her clique, “Da Headhuntaz.” This crew consisted of herself, (Raa-D Da Whiplasha'), her female partner "Naste’" and their DJ," E-Z Money". They recorded and performed together for a few years and Naste’ and Raa-D went on to record with the late Notorious B.I.G.’s cousin Bernard Scott. the female rap duo was recruited to do a few independent projects by old school platinum recording artist, Shelton McCoy, formerly of “Divine Sounds.” This group was responsible for Brooklyn’s first platinum Hip-Hop single, "What People Do For Money". Not long after meeting Shelton, the female duo split , but Shelton continued to work with Raa-D as a solo artist. She then worked with producers such as Rashad Smith (Who produced Biggie’s “One More Chance” and Jay-Z’s “Sunshine.”) Also Brett Touissant who has produced for The Lost Boys and Lil’ Kim. In 1999 Raa-D changed her name to Judi Jetsunn for the new millennium and she was offered a deal by Atlantic Records. As advised by her management and legal counsel, she turned the deal down and continued to work on her solo project independently.

In 2000 Judi Jetsunn and Shelton parted ways and Judi was picked up and backed by state of the art studio owner, Barry Lopate. She began recording her debut album “The World Revolves Around Judi Jetsunn” at Troposphere studio in Livingston, N.J. The album consisted of tracks from Govna’ Mattic (One of Redman’s many producers) and Johnny Dangerous of “I’ll Beat That B**** With a Bat.” fame. The singles “Think About It" and "Like it on the Roof” charted second under Mobb Deep on top breakouts in the DJ mass pool and climbed the regular charts for several weeks peaking at number 11, riding neck and neck with hip hop and R& B's top artists. A massive buzz was created and Judi Jetsunn had developed quite a name for herself in the hip hop world both on the streets as well as with the top record execs and major publishing companies. Unfortunately, not enough funds were generated to independently release the album and the album sat for a few years with no movement.

By 2006, Judi Jetsunn was in search of a new direction so she started her own independant label named after her daughter and called it, “Unique Entertainment.” In February of 2007 she independantly released her previously recorded album which was still timeless after 7 years. "The World Revolves Around Judi Jetsunn" was a breath of fresh air to the industry and the indie scene in particular. Judi then reincarnated herself once again into “Sibil Da Unsivil.”, a spin off of the psychological thriller “Sybil”, novel turned movie starring Sally Field. Sibil Da Unsivil has 6 personalities on her musical project describing herself as “multi-faceted” refusing to be pigeonholed into one style or image. So with 6 personalities she’s able to express “all of herselves” as she likes to put it. Now taking her destiny into her own hands, Sibil brings along her siblings for the ride.

She introduces her sophomore album entitled “The Siblings of Sibil Part 1” on her birthday, September 27th, 2007, available on i-tunes, amazon and cdbaby.com. This album is a breakdown of her six known personalities consisting of Raa-D, Judi Jetsunn, Rozetta Stone, Jetti Stone, Sandy Brown, and Sibil Da Unsivil (the nucleus of the project.) Sibil also introduces her daughter, Lucky Charm, on the album. Lucky sings, raps, and laces a few tracks on her mother’s sophomore album as well as debuts on the freshman album at the tender age of seven. The combination of versatile lyrics, hot production, and unique concepts make Sibil’s projects exceptional and beyond unique. Her and her daughter go by “The All Star Fem-ceez”, hip hop’s first ever mother and daughter rap duo.

As the CEO of her own label “Unique Entertainment,” with Errin Lipford “President Pay Me” as the company president, Sibil's duties have far exceeded being just an emcee. CEO, Executive producer, emcee, accountant, pre-production engineer and ghost writer, Sibil always has her work cut out for her. Sibil is currently a full time student as well working towards a psychology degree (ironically) and will be graduating in December of 2009 preparing to further her education. In the summer of 2007, Sibil received the great honor of having her song entitled "What If" published as a poem and placed on display in the international library of poetry. She was also featured on Raekwon the Chef (from Wu Tang Clan’s) mixtape “Listen Closely volume 1” in the summer of 2009 with her tribute song to the game, “Hip Hop Today.”

Sibil is currently working on her third independent solo album with “Incredible hawk”, who was accredited for his production on “The Lords of The Undergrounds” latest release. He is a multi talented producer/engineer/singer/songwriter who will be adding a refreshing collective flavor to the mix. Sibil and her daughter will be teaming up on future projects and have already completed a few collabs. So be on the look out for Sibil’s third independent release and keep your ears to the streets for Unique Entertainment’s collaboration mix tapes…coming soon!
