Shomori Pass has just collaborated with Thug Life legend Mopreme Shakur on a song called "A Thug's Life" to help carry on the Thug Life legacy internationally.
Shomori Pass was born in the heart of Los Angeles to two Thai immigrants who split up when he was 6. This forced him to bounce back & forth from foster homes to his schoolmates' sympathetic parents' homes until whom he calls Momma Maryum accepted him into her family. At age 14, he escaped self destruction by visiting the home of childhood friend '99 U.S. DMC Champ DJ P-Trix. The two spent hours a day scratching & rhyming over instrumentals. 2 years later when he met Jah Skillz freestyling at Hollywood's Universal City Walk. He decided to start writing rhymes due mostly to her schooling. His writing reflected on a change of environment as he moved to North Long Beach due to his sister's acceptance into Devry University of Long Beach. This era in his life built an underground notice capped even with a famed cipher at Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles off Gower with Shyhiem the Rugged Child. Shomori Pass then, was really born.
While during studio sessions at the home of Robin Thicke, Shomori met & eventually joined Fo'Life later to be renamed Elseworld. During his time with them, he collaborated with Down aka Kilo on his 1st album entitled "My 40 Ounce." All the while Shomori developed great music business knowledge from South African business executive Andre Charles who then was the Director of A & R for Yab Yum Entertainment where Elseworld was based. Knowledge in which he applied in completing his 1st solo album in 2001 entitled " From tha Far East." The album generated so much hype that the title track of the album caught the attention of Mopreme Shakur (brother of late great Tupac Shakur.) The two became friends instantly and collaborated on a song called "A Thug's Life" to help carry on the Thug Life legacy that Tupac began.
Shomori traveled to Malaysia with Akil the MC of Jurassic 5, where he met Malique, one half of Malaysia's Hip Hop legends Too Phat along with Malaysia's top DJ and producer DJ Fuzz. The three along with songstress Najwa completed a song that is the pride of Kuala Lampur named "KL My Belle" for the album "K.O." released in August 2009. Shomori then extended his rhyming talent to one of Thailand's top R&B sensation Two Popetorn of Love Is/Sony Music. The single "Kid Arai" was released by Sony Music and completed in Thai, a second language to him but never the less went to number 1 on the music video channel, Channel V. Now his upcoming album is one of the most highly anticipated albums in Asia.
