Formed in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico by Alberto Aceves (guitar), Daniel Cuellar (drums), Oscar Montes (bass) & Suk Ho (vocals), in 2004.
After the first demo "Frozen Eye", Daniel Cuellar left the band.
SHIRI needed a drummer to prepare material for their debut album, and recruited Mauricio Gonzalez, who added heavyness and also helped the band to complete their own sound.
With the line-up completed, they entered "Evolution Studios" of Jesus Bravo, to record their debut album ".and a Tear".
".and a Tear" saw the light in 2007, and the press compared SHIRI to bands such as Katatonia, Anathema, and Klimt 1918, saying "it is a rare mixture between old, new doom/death metal, death and black metal", receiving very possitive reviews.
After touring Mexico, Alberto Aceves left the band in 2009, and SHIRI recruited Michel Alavera in 2010.
- SHIRI is now working on their 2nd album titled "Your Last Dream", scheduled to be released in 2011. -
