How about label bio instead? The Shiner Records story is a sad one. The recipe for this label's success involved lots of drinking, a little bit of gossiping, some backstabbing, one murder, two lunar landings, and of course, some damn fine music.



Seriously folks, a few years ago KHYI (Dallas) General Manager Joshua Jones had a really cool project he was pitching to several record labels on behalf of Shiner Bock. Later he thought, why don't we just do this the right way and create OUR own label?! While Joshua Jones had mastered the subjects of eschatology, latin american family structure, and gin blossom's songs- he knew nothing about running a record label. He needed one thing, a cool record label cat. A smooth daddy. Someone that would show up at the club wearing a white turtle neck with a navy balzer and a captain's hat smoking a pipe.ordering a martini. He found that hip cat in Chris Thomas, founder of Palo Duro Records. Chris has brought smarts and style to the label (two things Joshua Jones sorely lacks).plus some pretty dang cool distribution.
