Back in September 04 the band now known as Shatter All doubt was formed, with original members Tyler Gottschalk, Jason Watt, and Matt Guderjan (all only at the age of 15 at the time). For months the band hammered out their own original songs in hopes of playing them for anyone who wanted to listen. Everything seemed to be going good, with the chemistry between the three growing stronger and stronger by the day. The band had played countless parties and small shows for all their friends, and they couldn't have been more excited. Almost exactly a year after the band formed they went to Eclipse studios in Normal, IL to record their demo, Introspect. After that they got their biggest break, opening up a 99x sponsored show at Expo Gardens in Peoria, IL in October of that year. That night Shatter All Doubt Opened up for bands, The Groodies (Chicago, IL), Seven Year Existence (Champaign, IL), Mindset Evolution (Peoria, IL), 99X house band Justify The Means (Peoria, IL), and Local Favorites 3AM Project (Peoria, IL). From then on the band played numerous shows at many central Illinois venues, playing with bands like Silence is Broken (Rockford, IL), None Taken (Bloomington, IL), Warborn (Oxford, WI), Still Heart Conspiracy (Peoria, IL), Mere Image (Washington, IL), Advocate (Mason City, IL), Last n Line (Dunlap), The Fourth Coming (IL), Funky Circus Fleas (IL), Enamel (Springfield, IL), Spirit of the Stairway (Cedar Falls, Iowa),and Bellikose (Peoria, IL). Even with all of the shows the band had played moving their way up the ranks of the central Illinois music scene it wasnt enough to keep the band together. In early 2006 the band started feuding. Unlike other differences that had been settled pleasently, this one ended differently. Only 1 night after their last show together Tyler and Jason parted ways with guitarist Matt Guderjan. For the next few months Tyler and Jason went into a creative writing period. They wrote 6 new songs along with improving older songs. In August 06, Tyler and Jason finally found what they were looking for, skilled, equipped, and dedicated guitarists, Ryan Gardner and Tom Klasen. Unfortunately, they have had to part ways with both guitarists, and now Tyler and Jason are each working separately on their own music.
