THE TAO OF SHAMBHALA::: The Shambhala movement began on a full moon night in the Spring of 2002. The air was clear and the city of Washington, DC was painted with brushstrokes of calm, peace and serenity. It was on this night that Born Infinite, hosting the hugely successful Hip Hop event "Tru Skool", met lyrical phenom and "mic contortionist" Agua.

Born Infinite's first opus "The Mohammed EP", had cemented his position as one of DC's Hip Hop elite; and to this day, the success of Tru Skool is credited with ushering in a new renaissance of the DC underground.

Agua, a native New Yorker and pioneer of the arts movements in DC & NYC had been building his legend in stealth, tearing up stages and releasing high profile exlcusives throughout the East Coast, gave a spirited Tru Skool performance that sparked an overwhelming demand for he and Born Infinite to collaborate. In doing so, Born and Agua recognized their unspoken, ancient connection – thus manifested the Way of SHAMBHALA…

In 2004, Shambhala's debut opus "The Lotus of…" shook the

underground and took it by storm, creating a windfall of press, intrigue and thousands of albums sold. With its unique blend of cross cultural modalities, African rhythms and eastern melodies, "The Lotus Of." was quickly regarded as a Hip Hop/Worldmusic triumph. As their buzz and sales continue to swell, it's clear that Shambhala has defied the odds and set a new standard. Having toured the U.S. east coast for much of 2005, Shambhala embarked on their first international tour through various cities in Asia in 2006. Needless to say, their adventure overseas was a resounding success. So much so that the group returned to Asia in the last leg of 2007 for another marathon run. Now back home (not for long – talks of a new international tour are currently underway) and concentrating heavily on two new albums, and a DVD collection of their live performances from around the globe, Shambhala is poised to take the world's breath away once again.

2008 will see the release of their long anticipated follow-up album SHAMBHALA::THE RETURN OF THE SILENT DRAGONS::
