PHOEBE LEGERE
is a an American composer from a highly musical family. Legere was a musical prodigy who began playing piano at age 3.

Though Phoebe Leere is known for her groundbreaking electronic/world/punk/jazz/avant/classical fusions.she
is also a scholar of early piano jazz styles. Legere's style is derived from the blues piano traditions of Roosevelt Sykes, Professor Longhair, Little Brother Montgomery, Little Richard and Fats Domino. To this foundation she adds more than a touch of genuine Harlem stride.

She then embarked on a 5 year tour of the Pacific Rim where she became a household name for her rocking, rollicking piano antics, spine tingling soul shouting soprano and down to earth blues scholarship. She also penned a hit single for pop star Kelly Chan. It's called Wei Yu and you can hear it at Itunes.

Legere has collaborated with Billy Joel, Joni Mitchell, Allen Ginsberg, Hunter Thompson, Don Cherry, Brian Eno, Bo Bo Shaw, Ikue Morie, Nana Vascolenos, and Leo Abrahams among many others. She has appeared on National Public Radio, CBS Sunday Morning, PBS's City Arts and Charlie Rose and is in the hit Nickelodeon series, "The Naked Brothers Band" She played accordion on the CD, which was produced by Michael Wolfe.
