"For some reason I had it in my head that Seven Years were quite a lo-fi act so when 'I Hope You Drown' came catapulting out of the speakers I got a bit of a surprise, especially following the calming 'biology'. After the initial shock I came to quite like this little EP, it doesn't do too much other bands haven't done already, but it's fast and furious and contains a couple of really good tracks. 'It's All Down From Here' is great, while the chugging 'happy?' is also impressive. As I've mentioned, there's little here that we haven't heard before, but it's done pretty well and that's all you can ask. There are a few decent bands fighting for recognition in Northampton right now and this EP does Seven Years' reputation no harm at all." - Punktastic

"a fast and furious, adrenaline-fuelled screamathon" - Drowned in Sound

"Seven Years are aggressive little buggers, quite adept at screaming blue murder one second and then singing beautifully the next. Another post-hardcore band I hear you cry. Well youd be wrong. Seven Years are far too disjointed to throw into any over-saturated niche and with driving guitars and promising drumming theres plenty on offer." - Punktastic

"Better than nothing" - Jaws 2 records

"Next up was the band we were there for. Seven years get better every time they play, like a fine wine. Like a fine wine that uses the phrase 'So cunting bored'. Absolutely fantastic. Stage invasions, fight circles, mass leaping. I managed to wrap the entire circle in masking tape, still easily amused at 18 years. four songs in and the crowd, led by Paddy, start up chanting; SEV-EN YEARS! SEV-EN YEARS! Its nice to see El-x and co back on stage and on good form. I came out after the set with a lot less shirt than i started with, and my thumb still don't work, but fook me was it worth it." - John Pryce
