Seretha Lichez

Speak very low if you’re planning on calling Seretha Lichez a newcomer when it comes to music. This incredible songstress has been singing since the tender age of 3 years old. "I remember my favorite song being ‘Superwoman’ by Karen White. Whenever I heard that song I instantly started singing. There were times when I would perform that song in front of family and friends.”



The Charlotte North Carolina native, Lichez (pronounced Lashae), like most southerners is no stranger to the church. With no professional training during her formative years, she developed an unusual vocal ability as a child. After finding she had a lovely voice and natural charisma, her parents wasted no time putting Seretha in the church choir, talent shows and pageants. "I remember my first solo, I was only 5 years old and I sung ‘Away in a Manger”, said Lichez. I don’t know what it was about that performance, but people started crying and I received a standing ovation. From that day forth, all I wanted to do was sing, and keep making people feel whatever it was they felt that day.”



An incredible vocalist with a strong stage presence, Lichez is currently preparing her debut release. Working with industry top names producers from DC, Atlanta, NC and Virginia, her singles “I Wish,” “Trippin,” and “Lost” are burning up the cyber world and mix tapes at an astonishing rate. Backed by a solid and professional team at Marets Entertainment, Seretha has managed to build a strong regional buzz that has dispersed globally.

Lichez’s ambitious work ethic continues to turn heads in the music industry gaining the attention from several A&R executives. Lichez main focus now is to finish up her solo album, with the goals in mind of a 2008 release.



She sums up the difference between her and her contemporaries like this. “Today, you hear a lot of songs that are good for right now, but you can’t hear yourself playing them in like 10 years. All my music is made for longevity. When people here my music, I don’t want them to just say it’s a good song. I want them to say, ‘yeah I feel this song’, and I want them to be like, “WOW”, I went through the same thing. If people get that from my music, then I feel I’ve done my job.”
