For years now, Sarah Gregory, a Texas native now based in Brooklyn, has been leaving audiences slack-jawed and smiling because of her powerful and unaffected voice and refreshingly tell-it-like-it-is songs. Equally steeped in soul, folk, and gospel music, Sarah brings her own distinctive style to the table with every performance. In addition to her work with the Stanleys, Sarah has been making a name for herself through her performance with Asthmatic Kitty's The Welcome Wagon, BiFrost Arts' compilation albums, and most notably The Gregory Brothers' viral video sensation Auto-Tune the News.

The Stanleys, Sarah's crack backup band, consists of Evan Gregory (Auto-Tune the News, The Gregory Brothers) on keyboard, vocals, and musical direction, Benjamin Foote on bass, Alex Foote (Diane Birch, Welcome Wagon) on guitar, Spencer Cohen (Diane Birch, Dusty Brown) on drums, Eli Asher (The Respect Sextet, Bjorkestra) on trumpet, and Justin Keller (Land of Leland, The Welcome Wagon) and Josh Rutner (The Respect Sextet, HappyFunSmile) on saxophone.
Sarah has been described by her adoring fans as "heartbreaking . her sound is soaring, powerful, and soulful."
In the summer of 2007, Sarah was asked by The Gregory Brothers, to join them for a three month tour. At the time, she was a blossoming singer-songwriter in Austin, but when given the chance to play night after night in front of crowd after crowd, she quickly lost her endearing beginner's shyness and just started wailing. Hard. She transformed into the kind of jaw-dropping musician that audiences can hardly believe they’re hearing in person. As she discovered the soul sound that was inside of her, she built a repertoire of tell-it-like-it-is knock-em-sock-ems, leaving her smaller ballads on the curb.

Now based in Brooklyn, Sarah and Evan put together a 7-piece band to fully realize the vision. The Stanleys are solid musicians, well-seasoned from an array of side projects. These good-looking Stanleys frame Sarah on every side of the stage, but their presence hardly overwhelms her. It simply highlights her unapologetic femininity. Their chemistry is catching.
