SEAN REA
BIOGRAPHY,
singer/songwriter spent his early years like most kids in LA, soaking up that golden California sun and playing rock music with his High School friends. They were like thousands of garage bands that popped up. Most seemed to die out like weeds in the hot west coast weather.,,,,
Sean spent his late teens and early years working and playing the legendary clubs and bars of the City of Angels.
His songwriting and unique playing style were developed as he worked, and watched the great musicians and songwriters passing through LAIn clubs like the Troubadour "I spent some time standing in line for a chance to play the Open Mic gigs. And any showcase going.,,,,,

Money was tight ."So as a left hander, I had to turn my friends guitars over and they showed me how to play in my upside down style. I did some sneaking around while I learned to play. My Dad thought I was out of my head.He worried it was a waste of time, but it was all good in the end".,,,,

After High School I took off for Europe.I was producing my first recordings by then.Using a small studio near an old pub called kelly Cellers in Belfast N.Ireland.I had some crazy ideas about what good music should feel like.Producer because I was the only one with pounds to spend.Think it took about 40 or 50 on that first session. Also a pint of vodka some smoke and a group of very talented people to make it happen.
That was a lot of money then, lol. The song was called, The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face. A great one by a local writer, its still a great one! When I got back to L.A. I had a lot of help and encouragement from some great musicians and industry pros."Over the years I have had a lot of fun doing this with people who have great talent.I was blessed they were cool enough to share it with me.Along the way I made some good friends and met some strange people.,,,,,

Sean quickly progressed into the music industry in LA. Between studying electronic music and audio engineering at Cal State Dominguez Hills. He continued developing his songwriting and production skills, working with composer/pianist Richard Bunger better known these days as Richard Bunger Evens, producer arranger Jim Ed Norman and two time Grammy winning recording engineer Ron Capone, and so many other great people and players. That this would just be a big list for name dropers.,,,,

The drive to write and perform has led Sean across the world. From his start in Southern California, and Laguna Beach,to the Seychelle Islands, Dundee Scotland, Belfast Northern Ireland. And through every gigable cranny between there and his home in Donegal Ireland.
Seans been on the road, touring the pubs clubs and colleges of Scotland and Ireland North and South extensively over the past few years. Sean has been able to absorbe and blend the influence of his Gaelic surroundings without surrendering to them. As his latest cd releases show so aptly.,,,,

Rainy Day's In Belfast,,,,

Days of Shadow Days of Sun,,,,

Blue Sky Daze,,,,

Sean is a romantic,a natural story-teller.His songs are melodic with vivid imagery. There is a soulful quality to the work. His love of twelve string guitars, airy shimmering open tuned acoustics and numerous musical influences run deep through the sound. It's been called Folk/Indie but its"Big and Powerful".What it is for sure,is his own upside down brand of Acoustic Rhythm and Blues." ,,,,
Sean is a friend of Rickenbacker and Guild guitars and luvs them.He says they are world class.and would endorse them to any player looking for the best. He is also a member of IMRO,and NIMIC.
Sean is proud to have taken part in Northern Irelands best, and biggest music festival over this past few years.
