Screams of Winter

proudly supports the following:

Screams of Winter is a metal band from the suburbs of Chicago, IL. We combine the technicality of progressive metal with the hard-hitting sound of death metal and hardcore inspired by such greats as Killswitch Engage, God Forbid, Unearth, In Flames, Between the Buried and Me, All That Remains, Into Eternity, and Dream Theater. Composed of experienced, classically trained musicians from their childhood years, the band is made up of four young men who have aspirations of the success in giving people something truly great and different to listen to.

The band was founded as a jam band in early 2004 by now front-man and former bassist Alex Damske. His brother, Maxwell, took on the job of guitar and various other members came and went. In 2006 a reply came from Vince Leidig to play the drums and then in 2007, Alex converted to guitar and long-time friend Matt Widuch filled the gap on bass. When former vocalist Mike Scola left the band in early 2008, Alex once again rose to the challenge and became the band’s vocalist.

With the raw screams of Alex Damske, the dueling technical guitar work alongside his brother Maxwell, the thunderous bass lines of Matt Widuch, and the relentless attack of Vince Leidig’s drumming, Screams of Winter has set themselves apart from the local metal scene by publishing songs that sound different and more advanced than their counterparts.
