Scott Alexander plays what can most briefly be described as nonrepetitive pop. His music is truly unique in the way it avoids verse-chorus repetitive structures, while employing catchy melodies and witty lyrics that evolve naturally through each song.
No topic is off bounds for Maestro Alexander. From obesity, to promiscuity, to the immorality of President Andrew Jackson, Scott offers insight on all of these subjects with passion and sincerity, all the while being acutely aware of the humor most potently delivered by unexpected truth.

Declared one of the top 25 CD’s of 2007 by indie-music.com, Scott’s most recent album exhibits inspiration from artists such as The Violent Femmes, Jonathan Richman, Magnetic Fields, and David Byrne. The influence of his classical training is also apparent with bassoon solos and his signature and unique song structures. Catchy for about 6 seconds at a time, his music is void of verse-refrain repetition, opting instead for a constant melodic and rhythmic flux that emphasizes a range of topics far beyond the default love song.
Often solo with an electric baritone guitar (tuned between a standard and bass guitar), Scott’s music is appropriately naked, bearing and embracing every nuance of an unstable moment. With shockingly direct vocals Scott eagerly invites others to revel at the nexus of sincerity and self-consciousness.
Maestro Alexander Scott Alexander studied bassoon and lute at the Peabody Conservatory and Ethnomusicology at UCLA. While his unique background facilitates his thoughtful song structures and cultural self-consciousness Scott does not take himself so seriously that he misses his main objective of connecting with people and making friends. He has been featured in several music magazines, college radio, and will be showcased in an upcoming documentary by Melissa Lefton. He is currently finishing two new albums to be released in December 09 and March 2010.
