DOOMSDAY 2009 -
Kicking off the show, Scapegoat performed
to a room full of people packed
in so tight, there was barely room to
maneuver through. With a strong
attacking style their choppy stompy
death metal music also incorporated
groove and thrash intermingled. I loved
how they threw in occasional melodic
intros and elements into their songs.
Any subtle dynamics a band can incorporate add to the punch
when they do finally transition into the grooves and grind. I’d
describe their vocal style as searing as it scorched through the
entire crowd violently! Sweet to see the art of pitting has not
been lost—and these guys knew how to instigate a pit!
