s.b.v. began practicing in the fall of 2002 with chad on vocals, doug on guitar, and will on drums. after writing a few songs we recruited adam from over my dead body on bass in the winter of 2002. in the beginning of 2003 we finally had a full set of songs so we recorded an 8 song demo tape and started to play a few shows. in the summer of 2003 we re-recorded all of our demo songs as well as some new songs that were all later released as a split 7" with feelin' fine on retarded records and a full 7" on parts unknown records. later that summer will moved to san francisco. in the winter of 2003/spring of 2004 we temporarily recruited sal from some girls/secret fun club to play a couple of shows with us on drums and record 3 new songs for "histeria" volume 3 (still yet to be released.damn!) with him. other than this things were pretty dormant for a while. in the summer of 2004 will decided he would do a week long tour of the east coast with us and so off we went for a fun time and, as far as first tours go, it wasn't too bad at all. he also flew down to do a couple of local shows with us as well. in the fall/winter of 2004 adam moved up to berkeley to go to school. we contemplated trying to keep the band together with this original line-up but soon realized it was not going to work out very easily due to the extreme distance. so doug and chad put the band on a hiatus while searching for new members. finally, in the spring of 2005, we recruited matt from you're next on bass and danny from all the waste i see on drums. this line-up recorded the "carpetburn" single as well as one other song for another compilation that has still not been released (noticing a trend here?), a new 5 song demo tape, and the soon-to-be released 14 song 12" entitled "raw nerve". look for that bad larry on mankind records in hopefully spring of 2007. danny has unfortunately left the fold, but he stuck it out long enough to record 6 new songs that will be released as the "swallow the pill" 7" on refuse records. little antonio (you might know him as a.h. from such bands as down again, take offense, and cold stare) is now beating the shit out of his drums for us and keeping us young.

p.s. we should also say "hey thanks, dude" to arian from until the fall/you're next for filling in on guitar a couple of times over the years (and actually playing 2nd guitar just for the hell of it a couple of times too!). i suppose you could consider him an "honorary member" and a helluva guy.

after a west coast tour in the summer of 2008, s.b.v. unofficially called it a day.
