I have been very lucky to have been involved in and enjoying music in some form from a very young age. Born and raised in Littlehampton, West Sussex, I studied brass (trumpet and tenor horn) alongside my two brothers and played in many local orchestras and bands. In my teens I discovered a love of singing and classical music took a back seat in favour of performing as a vocalist with function bands. The precedent was set and I knew that I would always sing!
For the past five years I have been performing as a solo artist, teaching myself to play the guitar, writing original material and promoting myself to anyone who'll listen! I've been lucky enough to have performed hundreds of gigs in some fantastic venues from Bournemouth through to Brighton. I have gained a reputation for my diverse repertoire which has included original songs, over 200 covers from the 1940s to the present day, jazz standards, folk and even a Karen Carpenter tribute! I have also had the good fortune to collaborate with platinum selling dance music producers 'The Wide Boys' and have appeared on several charting Ministry Of Sound compilations as well as receiving national radio play.
Now I am delighted to have finally completed my debut studio album 'Transparent', featuring 100% original material. Having previously self-produced all my albums and demos on an 8-track studio at home, it has been a great pleasure to work with producer and musician Mike Fry and many talented local artists to finally bring my songs to life. The album is now available for purchase from itunes, via PayPal, or of course you can buy one in person at one of my gigs! I have been showcasing the material with a live band at some great festivals and events including suporting Katie Melua at the 2010 Chichester Real Ale & Jazz Festival.
"Sarah Saville brought a performance full of beauty and melancholy with her three-octave range voice and I could see why Sarah had been billed as an incredible vocal talent. Obvious comparisons to Karen Carpenter leapt out, but Sarah has a voice and feel that is very much her own. A nervous vulnerability endeared her further to an audience that was already captivated.I was so impressed that I grabbed a copy of Sarah's impressive Acoustic Swan CD" Petersfield Post
"Stunning cover versions" Bognor Regis Observer
"this amazing artist has a superb voice covering a huge range. She went down a storm on a previous visit. She sings her own songs as well as some well chosen contemporary favourites. Sarah has a captivating three octave voice with deep rich resonance. As soon as Sarah started singing she captured the audience with her fantastic voice. She played an acoustic set of songs which held them captive through two sets, a hard thing to do for a single artist, even the hard to please were reaching for their money to buy her CDs. We look forward to having her back." Amberley Folk Club
"Superb vocal control.astounded the audience" Reel Sound Music
"Beautiful melodies sung with tremendous feeling. A delight to witness and appreciate. We look forward to welcoming Sarah back as do all her many fans." The Fox Goes free, Charlton
"One of the joys of working in the industry is that there is always a chance you may come across something or someone unique. Sarah Saville definitely falls into this category. Her songs are excellent - the kind that worm their way into a little corner of your head, and stay there, popping back every now and then when you need a little stimulation, a little soothing, or even just something to hum sitting at the traffic lights. But its her voice - warm but powerful, with a deep resonant range that most singers would give their right arm for thats what really grabs you by the heart lungs head and soul, and once shes got you thats it!!" Iain Dunnet, Dunnet Wright Music
"Sarah Saville is a marvel to behold. As she hesitantly takes centre stage you are worried that she might break or crumble before your eyes, and then she lets rip with that voice. Sarah has a four octave range and the sweetest, child-like quality that is almost impossible to convey on the written page. And if this wasnt enough, she was joined on stage by Lewis Harding who is, in my humble opinion, one of the most technically proficient guitarists I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. Separately these two are brilliant artistes but collectively they become something so much more, with Lewis subtle and beautiful guitar floating in and out behind Sarah's haunting voice. It's enough to make a grown man cry." Kev Hardy, Titchfield Music Club
