Hey friends!



The fate of the whales hangs in the balance. Greenpeace's fastest ship, the Esperanza, has been chasing the Japanese whaling ship for 5 days now, over hundreds of miles through fog and increasingly rough seas. The high speed chase has driven the factory ship Nisshin Maru out of the hunting grounds where they hoped to kill 1000 whales, including 50 endangered fin whales.



All whaling has stopped -- for now.



But we need your help to keep our ship on the seas. Facebook has launched a Giving Challenge, and the cause with the greatest number of donors each day wins $1000. The cause with the most donors by February 1st wins a grand prize of $50,000! This would go a long way to fund the expedition, and to keep our ship between the whales and the grenade-tipped harpoons of the whalers.
