Sacristy, the self-proclaimed Masters of Baphometic Devastation, commenced an infernal battle on the Black Metal scene in embryonic form, in the summer months of 1999. At that time, founder Natazrahn and his comrad Selioz Baphomet Warblast began the composition and arrangement of some of the first Sacristy hymns, including Damned Be You Who Come In The Name Of The Lord, Light From The Darkest Sta.r and the now, fan favorite, Descent From Darkness Into Light and Disorder. All of these hymns plus others were released on the opus, The Plague Of Solitude recorded in 2002 and released in early 2003.
After recruiting members including Shaftplague, Selpiner, Nihil and Niddhogg, Sacristy performed a pletora of live performances and experienced many line-up changes with these necromancers, seemingly disbanding sometime in 2003. However, during what seemed like a haiatus, Natazrahn, Niddhogg and current drummer Eschaton had begun work on the hymns which would become well known and recorded on Sacristy's second release Primordial Serpent Holocaust in 2004.
This line-up has been performing the art of sonic necromancy since then on a consistant, albeit extremely low key basis. Sacristy is known to play only 1 to 4 shows a year and since 2009, none at all.
Having recorded 2 albums since Primordial Serpent Holocaust, those being the breakthrough and well received album that solidified Sacristy as one of the premeire Satanic Black Metal bands in the United States of America, 2007's album, Masters Of Baphometic Devastation. This opus is an eclectic vision of Black Metal, executed to the fullest in the way the members of the band perceive Black Metal to be, in raw, minimalist and chaotic form. Masters was followed most recently with the death worshipping opus known as 4444.
Though long silent, there shall be no halt to the sacrelige, especially as Sacristy has finally entered the digital age. Starting with 4444 and Masters. Sacristy will traverse backward in time, releasing all of the albums, available for both physical compact disc purchase and download on the websites CDBABY.COM and ITUNES.COM
