Daniel, Steven and Andrew McWilliams, all brothers, have played music together since they could wrap their hands around their dad's guitar.
Living in Lubbock in the early 2000's, Daniel developed a passion for Texas music by watching Cory Morrow play for rowdy Tech students in crowded dive bars. Steven and Andrew were in Dallas watching Randy Rogers and Wade Bowen explode out of the Hill Country. The Texas music scene was on fire – so they dove in.
In 2009, the brothers released "Love, Guitars and Whiskey," a record that reveals the energy of a young group ready to play their show. Ronnie Huckaby, leader of George Strait's Ace in the Hole Band, co-produced the album with Tommy Detamore. Tommy owns Cherry Ridge Studios in Floresville TX and has produced records for Jamie Richards, Sunny Sweeney, Kevin Fowler, Tommy Alverson and others.
When Dwayne Bollmeyer and Derron Bell (lead guitar and percussion) teamed up with the McWilliams brothers in mid-2010, the band became the best it has ever been. From symphony halls to Rodeos, veterans Dwayne and Derron have played almost every kind of gig imaginable.
What's the best part about playing Texas Country music? Steven jokes about the Texas/Nashville dispute: "Texas music, for me, is so special because of the fans' loyalty. The live shows are so intense - I just don't think you can find that watching Rascal Flatts sing a duet with Justin Bieber. Is that just me?"
Give the record a listen. Hit that little "Like" button, follow the band on Twitter (@RBtexascountry), call up the stations and buy a track on iTunes. If you can't do any of that… at least consider this: SUPPORT COUNTRY MUSIC.
