Russell Stafford is an Australian born singer/songwriter residing in Portland, Oregon.
In late 2009, Russell formed the alternative pop/rock band, Crown Point, with fellow front-man, Jon Davidson. In support of their debut album, Wolves, Crown Pointed toured the US and Canada extensively. Playing in excess of 200 shows in 2010, including sold-out shows at The Knitting Factory (Spokane), Aladdin Theater (Portland), Soiled Dove (Denver), Schuba's (Chicago), Eddie's Attic (Atlanta), City Winery (NYC) and Cafe 939 @ Berkley (Boston), they also had the pleasure of performing at SXSW, Cornerstone Music Festival and the Alaska State Fair.
Crown Point is currently in the studio recording their sophomore album, due out in Summer 2011.
Since releasing his debut album “Freshwater” in 2005, Russell has shared the stage with such prominent artists as Augustana, Anna Nalick, Josh Radin, Mat Kearney, Meese and more. His unique sound, powerful performances and genuine character have garnered him both local and national radio airplay, and a dedicated Northwest fan base.
In 2008, Russell released the much awaited follow-up to Freshwater. Fittingly titled "Between You & I", he continued his efforts to break out of typical singer/songwriter restraints. In 2009, Crucial Music Publishing began using songs from Between U & I for select national broadcasters and independent films
Russell also lends his music and talents to many local and national charities, including the Muscular Dystrophy Association, The Humane Society and the Doernbecher Children's Hospital.
