Russell Sawyer

Formed in late 2006, the band Russell Sawyer and The Lost Cause is quickly capturing the attention and loyalty of an increasing fan base in eastern and central Kansas as well as in Oklahoma, Texas, and Nebraska. This fairly new group is based around the music of singer/songwriter Russell Sawyer, a seasoned performer who has been playing for 10 years and has experience as far away as Florida. The band may be new, but the people in it aren’t -there’s a reason the Lost Cause Foundation (fan club) members are willing to travel.

The genre “alternative-country-rock” belies the familiar yet original “American” style that the band is known for. Although not at all “pop country”, the music is accessible to a wide audience. Soulful lyrics, unselfish co-operation for the overall sound, and a contagiously fun live show set Russell Sawyer and The Lost Cause apart from the rest.



Russell Sawyer and the Lost Cause:Have shared the stage with Cross Canadian Ragweed, Mike McClure Band, Stoney Larue, Wade Bowen, Jason Boland and the Stragglers, Jarrod Birmingham, Darren Kozelsky, and The Kyle Bennett Band.
