David Eidelstein también conocido como Rulo comenzó su carrera profesional en la música a los 17 años como bajista, compositor, cantante y miembro fundador de la banda de funk y hip hop Los Tetas, junto a ellos grabó dos discos: Mama Funk (1995), La Medicina (1997) y un EP Cha Cha Cha (1997) bajo el sello EMI. Realizaron giras por México, Colombia, Argentina y Chile, donde obtuvieron rápidamente un disco de oro por su primera producción “Mama Funk”.
Los Tetas marcó a toda una generación que recién estaba descubriendo la música funk y hip hop, y fue una de las primeras bandas en cultivar este estilo en español a nivel latinoamericano.
Luego de abandonar el grupo el año 1998 se dedico a estudiar canto, piano, saxo y armonía en la Escuela Moderna de Música de Chile y durante un año (2001) en la escuela Taller de Musics en Barcelona, España.
Al regresar a Chile en el 2003 comenzó junto a David Vasquez y el guitarrista de jazz Jorge Díaz el proyecto Esencia en el cual desarrolló el trabajo de compositor, letrista y cantante. Este proceso vió la luz el año 2010 con la publicación del primer disco de Esencia “Presencia”, editado de forma independiente y a través de descarga gratuita en su pagina web: www.esenciamusica.com.
Al mismo tiempo desde el año 2005 se reúne con Tea Time y Tata, ex integrantes de Los Tetas y forman el grupo Funkattack, junto a ellos se presenta en Perú y Ecuador y realiza varias giras por el norte y sur de Chile. El trabajo de esta agrupación se consolida el 2010 con la edición del disco “El Ritmo” editado por Discos CNR. Rulo también ha colaborado como cantante, bajista y compositor en discos de: Tiro de Gracia, Latin Bitman, Pedro Greene, Atom Heart, Tapia Rabia Jackson entre otros.
Paralelamente desde el año 2005 Eidelstein ha realizado una importante carrera como dj en chile, tocando en los clubs mas importantes de la escena de Santiago de Chile, desde 2008 en sus presentaciones como dj incorpora el bajo eléctrico en un live set con mucha mucha improvisación y remixes realizados en vivo.
David Eidelstein, also known as "Rulo," started his music career at the age of 17 as a bassist, composer and founding member of the hip hop and funk band Los Tetas. Together with Los Tetas, Rulo recorded two albums: Mama Funk (1995), La Medicina (1997) and a EP Cha Cha Cha (1997), all under the recording label EMI. Los Tetas toured through Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and Chile where they quickly achieved a gold album for their first production "Mama Funk."
Los Tetas appealed to the entire generation that had recently discovered funk and hip hop music, and was one of the first bands to perform this style in Spanish on a level covering all of Latin America.
After leaving the group in 1998 Rulo dedicated himself to studying voice, piano, saxophone and harmony at the Escuela Moderna de Música in Chile and for one year (2001) at the Taller de Musics school in Barcelona, Spain.
After returning to Chile in 2003 Rulo started, alongside David Vasquez and the jazz guitarrist Jorge Díaz, the project called "Esencia," during which Rulo developed his talents as composer, lyricist and singer. This project saw the light in 2010 with the publication of their first album, "Presencia," which was recorded independently and made available for free download on their website www.esenciamusica.com.
In 2005, Rulo joined with Tea Time and Tata, former members of Los Tetas, and formed the group Funkattack. Together, Funkattack has performed in Peru and Ecuador and perfomed on various music tours throughout north and south Chile. The work with Funkattack culminated in 2010 with the release of the album "The Rhythm," released by Dscos CNR. Rulo also colaborated as a singer, bassist and composer on albums with: Tiro de Gracia, Latin Bitman, Pedro Greene, Atom Heart, Tapia Rabia Jackson, among others.
Along with this musical activity, Rulo has made a significant career as a DJ in Chile, playing in some of the most important clubs on the music scene in Santiago. His presentations incorporate the electric bass in a live set involving improvisation and music remixes.
