Roz Bell returns with the soundtrack to summer. "Endless Summer Night" is the first single from his forthcoming album, Songs For Leaving, due out this summer. Roz wrote the album last fall at a beach house on Lake Huron then retreated back to his Toronto studio to record it. "I wanted to seclude myself and really focus on putting together a great collection of songs before committing them to record" states Roz. The result is a 12 song collection ranging from the good time vibe of "Endless Summer Night" to the introspective "Brooklyn, Save My Life", to the beat driven ballad, "Sarah's Song". "The album is all over the map" says Roz. "What holds it together is the story telling, the honesty in the lyrics and the character in the delivery". The album is written, produced and performed entirely by Roz.

Roz is somewhat of a journeyman in the music business. Starting out as a 13 year old rapper named Troubadour, he wrote rhymes in the schoolyard for him all his friends. Throughout high school, Roz recorded several indie albums with Toronto MC Louwop under the name Tenth Planet. In 1997, Roz joined Toronto Hip Hop collective Unit E (Louwop, Phatt al, Tallisman, Potion, Roz) to release the 12" Planet Of The Apes. Endless shows. Endless demos. Managers, Bands. Deals. All culminating in the release of Roz's debut album, The First Sunbeams. Released on Universal in 2007, the album spawned two Top 20 hits in Yesterday Man and Papercut. Roz toured the album with an all star band, but fell victim to the hard times of the music biz. After being dropped by Universal in 2008, Roz began work on his sophomore album, October. Released in 2009 through Roz's own label Enacy, the self produced album went on to have great success with the lead single, Heart Attack climbing to 23 on the Hot AC charts and Roz being chosen as the Artist Of The Month by CHUM radio.

With the release of his third album, Songs For Leaving, Roz vows to continue his climb to the top of the mountain and plant his flag. "I just want to leave my mark. I don't listen to my records. Artists don't create work for themselves. Can you picture Hemingway reading The Old Man and The Sea or Van Gogh admiring Starry Night? Artists are driven to create. We create work to get a reaction. I want people to hear my music. Millions of people. I want them to turn it up in their car. To raise a glass in the pub. To be comforted by it. To relate to it. To enjoy it the same way I enjoy the artists and records I love". With the momentum and creative output Roz has going for him, he is well on his way.
