Roxy Cottontail is the kind of girl books are written about. She came
to New York with dreams, drive and a tube of lip-gloss ready to work
her little Cottontail off and make people come together, dance and
have a good time. From Baltimore to Philadelphia, she has been around
the musical block picking up friends, acts and experience along the
way. In Philly, she helped establish Diplo and Low Budget, of the
legendary Hollertronix party. She jump-started Spankrock's rap career
and also booked Chromeo's first New York show. Her skills, talent and
varied tastes have helped her rise to the top of the world of music.
Her signature style is part of everything she touches and it has deep
roots in punk, dance, electro, house, hip-hop, reggae and rock. She
hosted dates on the Rock the Bells summer tour in 2008, the same year
she was featured on the cover of URB magazine. In 2009 Pepsi added
Roxy as the first female DJ in the Pepsi DJ Collective. Her other
corporate clients include: Ray Ban, Calvin Klein, Starwood Hotels,
Heineken and The Palms Resort & Casino. She has DJed & performed all
over the world in places like Hong Kong, Las Vegas, Stockholm,
Barcelona, Iceland and Tokyo. In 2010 her single "Bounce Little
Kitty" with Larry Tee was released on Ultra Records and remixed by
Afrojack, which became an international club hit. Roxy has garnered
the eye of HBO and has been featured on a few episodes of "How to
Make it in America".
Roxy has been featured in countless publications including i-D, The
New Yorker, world wide issues of Time Out, WAD, Mixmag, Warp and BPM.
Last year, Spin Magazine featured Roxy in their Top 25 Must-Hear
Artists at the Bamboozle music festival along side bands like Weezer
and Paramore. She has DJed with some of the biggest names including
Steve Aoki, the late DJ AM, Iggy Pop, Benny Benassi, Afrojack, Afrika
Bambaataa, Far East Movement and Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas.
Her collaborations also carry into the studio where she has created
songs with Armand van Helden, Drop the Lime, Party Squad and
legendary Electroclash icon, Larry Tee. Her Lifestyle Enhancement &
Marketing Agency - "Hey Girl Hey" recently launched as well. Music,
marketing and recording! Oh my!
