The tendency to music goes without saying when you are born in a country that is the worldwide symbol for rhythm and body feeling.

Roxxy Bione is Brazilian and the love to music was injected to her by her mothers milk. Seemingly overdosed, it drove her into the alternative music scene of her hometown Recife in the middle of the 80ies. As the lead singer of the punk band Tempo Nublado, Roxxy made her first stage experiences and at the same time left no doubt that her musical style broke with traditional Brazilian music. Her move to Sao Paolo in the early 90ies was the

mandatory consequence of this.

The city had a more tolerant and versatile environment in which Roxxy very quickly became a dazzling it-girl and part of the artist collective que fim levou Robin. She is an avant-garde statement, demonstrating glamour, style and snootiness.

During the day, Roxxy works as a make-up artist and model to survive. At night she is part of a up and coming youth culture. She is an icon in the Sao Paolo party scene which is very much influenced by electronic music from Europe and the U.S. In the mid 90ies she decides to move to Germany to be closer to her idols. After living in Baden-Baden and Frankfurt a. M., all on her own and without family, struggling to survive, she moves to Berlin. The city where dreams come true or burst.

Living in Berlin also meant reducing her own needs of which the most important one was making music. The diversity of clubs in Berlin is an Eldorado, the nights are never-ending. In one of these endless nights, Roxxy meets Kook. From the sympathy and passion for the same music they soon develop the idea of producing music together.

Their debut track is Phantom Hitchhiker which released worldwide in selected record-stores in December 2004. It turned out an immediate dance floor hit, making Kook and Roxxy to one of the most demanded live acts in Berlin and causing quite a commotion in the whole of Europe.

Roxxy is now also working in other projects, for example together with Tyree Cooper, Dole&Kom

Roxxy causes a clash between German reservation and Brazilian temper and is proof that anything goes, as long as you dont let your dreams out of sight.

Magisches aus der Hauptstadt



Rockige, poppige Klänge ertönen aus Berlin, die selbst den stärksten Putz von den Wänden abbröckeln lassen. Kook feat. Roxxy Bione sind mit ihrem ersten Longplayer Album am Start. Mit insgesamt 13 Tracks schaffen sie ein Example zwischen den gewohnten Vierviertelbeats der Elektroszene und die metallenen E-Gitarren-Klänge der Rockszene.



Die Musik der beiden ist zwischen Goldfrapp und Northern Lite einzustufen. Kook hat für die Blonde Schönheit die Beats sehr hart abgemischt, gepaart mit E-Gitarren Musik a la Northern Lite. Dabei achtet er darauf, dass er seine eigene Note beibehält. Roxxy antwortet auf diesen Sound mit ihrer progressiven Stimme.



Mit diesen Sounds werden die Zuhörer nicht nur einfach mit dem Fuß wippen, sondern allein durch die Beats und die Stimme von Roxxy magisch in den Bann gezogen.Denis Pflieger
