Rory Gannon

Rory Gannon is a singer-songwriter born out of Whidbey Island: The son of a sad poet & an estranged guitar collector. he has been witness to beauty, self sacrifice and self distruction. His songs are about heartache (real heartache.that is his own), Love, Death & worry. But don't be fooled, light hearted jems do appear from time to time in his library of work. but he always tries to at least keep it real.------

I'd crawl up warm into your lashes.

where i've always known that I could forever send only the most honest and stripped-down of lunatic prayers.

& then I would do my best just to sit with you again. smoking and smiling outloud upon your obsessions with cherries.

In my chest and in my mind, I would name you something like heaven.

'Would promise to give you this crooked & swollen mouth to call your very own. -if only for the rest of a God-given time within all of your precious and wild little views of the world.

If lucky, I just might stay happy like a child again.

'Would get a chance at a drink with the dead old man, who had always found an aggressive sort of slumber within his own advice. but cursed out all of those who had followed it.

Would he now hold me high?

I Always use too many words for you.

-To take a risk and learn something of hearts.

-To cry into your ever so useful hands & begin to understand -some sort of the sweetest idea- of all those bad, affectionate women.
