Hey you all!!



I want to share some great news with you.
I reached the finals in the Steve Vai Naked Tracks Competition.
On October the 20st all 7 finalist will play their version of a naked track and Steve Vai himselve
will be in the jury. So I get the change to meet my idol and great motivator. How great is that!!!
I decided to make my own composition of The Crying Machine and I’am happy with the result.
You can listen to the song on my playlist. Hope you all like it too and wish me luck for the finals!!

Next Friday the 1st. of October I will be in MIJKE’S MIDDAG, Radio 6 on stage.
Live music in Club Panama in Amsterdam, Oostelijke Handelskade 4.
Free entrance so join between 16.00-19.00 hours or listen live at Radio 6.

Not even 3 years old and the first picture of Rory appears in musicmagazine
MUSICMAKER.
Together with his father he visited a music exhibition in Rotterdam and was spotted by a photograpfer while playing at a keybord.
That Rory has a musical talent is not very surprising as the whole family is more or less involved with music. At the age of 10 he picks up the guitar and in no time he is playing songs of Joe Satriani and Steve Vai.
On the Havo school for Music and Dance in Rotterdam he develops his talent en shows big interest in all kinds of music styles.



In 2004, one year after winning the Sena Guitar Awards, he gets the change to make a CD.
Rory starts writing songs and in 2006 recording starts, together with his friends and all young talents from school. The result is a beautifull instrumental Fusion/rock record: “Musical Journey”.
Michel van Schie, wellknown bass player and producer in Holland, mixed the cd and is very impressed by the music and the band. The Album also gets beautifull reviews in Musicmaker and Musicfrom.nl.
The band, meanwhile called RoryMI, leaves for Cincinnatti/USA shortly before the release of the album in October 2007. They play at the Midpoint Festival overthere and they perform a great show. Everybody there, including favous producer Erwin Musper, is lyrical about the high level of the music and boys, who are at that time on the average of 18 years old!!



The music also gets attention from Co de Kloet from the dutch radio (NPS) and RoryMI is
declared by Ongekendtalent.nl as most remarkable band of 2008.
MI stands for Musical Impact and that year the band does a lot of shows with singer
Roza Lozica. This cooperation ends after 1 year and unfortunately the band falls apart.
Meanwhile Rory has graduated from school and works 2 days a week in the studio of producer Tom Pearce where he can develop his producing skills.



Rory starts writing instumental songs again and together with RoryMI he does a great show as support act of Tony Spinner (Toto) end of February 2009.
He also decides to concentrate more on session work and becomes the gitarist of the great panflute talent Mihai. One of the highlights with Mihai was his entry for Holland Got Talent.
He joins the American gitarist and friend on his tour in Holland and does a lot of producing for other bands at his home studio.
After the summer of 2009 he goes to the pop division of the conservatoire in Rotterdam and takes gitar lessons from Leendert Haaksma, Menno Gootjes and Age Cat, who are all top gitarist in the duch music scène.
Meanwhile Rory can also been seen and heard as gitarist of great singer April Darby.
He wants to become a famous guitar player, not only as session mucisian but also as artist who makes his own music. New ideas for a 2nd cd are spinning in his head and one thing is sure, this one has to be very special!
