Since Room 101's inception in 2000, the band has mixed thought provoking and at times controversial lyrics with complex musical arrangements and a unique myriad of influences from the grinding grooves of early nineties post-grunge to ethereal movements like those of Pink Floyd, King Crimson, and other classic visionaries to modern progressive/experimental stylings of Radiohead and dredg.

In this vision, the band has tried to keep its distance from the plethora of fads, instead, relying on the honesty of their emotions and influences to create the music you hear today.

The band came together in Waco, Tx. All four members were attending McLennan Community College for its music program. Michael, Taylor, and Jaime had played together in different ensembles at the school, but all three of them never played at one time together. It wasn't until in 1999 when Taylor's hometown friend, Sterling, moved to Waco to attend McLennan and they all joined the same Rock Band Ensemble. They played cover songs for two semesters with other musicians, but they felt a connection between themselves and decided to make original music as a band outside of school.

Room 101 started out by playing around Waco to develop a following and gradually progressed into the Dallas area. They have since relocated to the area and are primarily playing the Deep Ellum clubs such as Curtain Club, Club Clearview, Club Indigo, Tree's, and Galaxy Club.

Room 101 has performed with many of the popular Texas based artists such as Jibe, Fair To Midland, The Feds, Upside, Somsara, Shaolin Death Squad, and Faktion as well as many others. Room 101 has also shared the stage with national recording artists, Days Of The New and Socialburn.

Their debut album, Evolve.(released in the summer of 2002), combines emotional and technical prowess that rivals their energetic live shows. Room 101 brings back a long lost element of artistic rock back to the fans. Room 101 are the storytellers for the next (r)evolution.
