Behind every great song there is an astounding producer. With hits such as Hakeem Tha Dream's "Thick Wit It", Tiffany Evans' "Promise Ring Remix" and the MTV remix to Katy Perry's "Kissed a Girl", stands fantastic producer Ronnie Notch. Ronnie Notch is a 27-year old multi-genre music producer, DJ, and writer hailing from St. Louis, MO. Notch found his passion for music at the young age of 13 when he became a disk jockey at a St. Louis skating rink. In 2004 Notch became tired of playing the same records by other artists. With the pioneering influences of Burt Bacarach, Luther Vandross, Kanye West, Afrika Bambaataa, Marvin Gaye, Tupac Shakur, Just Blaze, Jimmy Hendrix, Andre 3000, and Timbaland, Notch began to make his own music.
Ronnie Notch's first song was "Catch a girl" by J.Biggs in 2005. With this record Ronnie Notch, hit the ground running. He was soon signed to UGK records as a producer. With this new endeavor, Notch began producing tracks for Hezeleo and Pimp C while still working outside the company with artist like C-murder and Jackie O. During his time, Notch became part of a producing ensemble named "Dem Texas Boyz" under the UGK label. "DTB" consisted of Averexx, Beat Masta Wes, and Ronnie Notch. This Trio also produced and co-produced, "Block Starz" Mixtape Volume 1"Which featured Pimp C and Hezeleo as well as "Respected & Connected" a West Coast mix tape.
With the demise of "Dem Texas Boyz", Notch continued to produce for multiple artists. Spiffy, Murphy Lee, Kurupt (DPG), Bun-B, Katy Perry, Tiffany Evans, Ciara, Ebony Eyez, Big Tuck, Mercedes, Marques Houston, Mila J., MIMS, and Sean P are just a subset of the many musical artist that have been blessed by Notch's talents. Ronnie Notch's current projects include artist, Hakeem Tha Dream with PiMO Ent., Will Victory, Ooops, Kid Money K.G., Young Spiffy with Slot A Lot Records, June 5th from Konvict Records, Prentiss Church with Derrty Ent., and Hezeleo with UGK Records.
With excellent tracks like "Thick Wit It", "Ass Like Hers", and "Bad As She Wanna Be" Notch exemplifies a fantastic producer, but does not limit himself to just producing. He also has a humanitarian side. Staying on Track, is an organization founded by Ronnie Notch that focuses on positive influences and involvement in the struggling St. Louis community. Through Staying on Track, Notch dedicates himself to students in grades 6-12 that have musical aspirations to do just that, stay on track so they too can achieve their dreams.
Grounded by God and pushed by passion for amazing music, Ronnie Notch is destined to be one of the most influential producers of his time.
