Called for the sake of the gospel of Jesus Christ, Ron Bishop & the Judah First Chorale is swiftly rising to take its place in today's gospel music industry!
"Judah", as they are affectionately called, takes center stage with thirteen multi-talented singers poised to deliver the "good news" in a way that mesmerizes the listener's heart - a delicate balance of well-seasoned voices wrapped in tight harmonies, drenched in life-changing lyrics! This group, based out of South Bend Indiana, has been singing together since November 1995 when the leader, Ron Bishop, recorded his first project. ("A New Beginning")
Ron Bishop, a tremendously talented & gifted choir conductor as well as anointed psalmist began singing and conducting choirs at an early age. Although his gifting for music is God-given, his musical abilities and talents are apparent traits from both his parents who also sang and and played musical instruments. Most noteworthy about Ron's music ministry is his dedication, commitment, steadfastness, professionalism, and hard-work-ethic he brings to every performance. He ministers with a warmth and sincerity that only comes from a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. He has been noted by ministry leaders around the country as a prolific praise & worship leader, workshop clinician, and minister of the gospel.
Ron has been blessed to appear on concerts and services featuring world-renowned gospel artists such as Kim Burrell, Rev. John P.Kee, Marvin Sapp, Donnie McClurkin, LaShun Pace, Jennifer Holiday, Lamar Campbell, Dr. Bobby Jones, Tye Tribett & GA, and the list goes on and on. He has been featured as a lead vocalist on recordings featuring national recording artist Lamar Campbell & Spirit of Praise, former Tyscot artists Ron Ellerson & Sounds Unlimited and also Min. Randall Blakely & GI Praise Community Choir. He has also appeared as a spotlight artist on BET's nationally televised Bobby Jones Gospel Show. He was blessed to win the 2006 new artist showcase at the About My Father's Business Music Conference held in Indianapolis, Indiana which resulted in him appearing in a nationally televised gospel concert on the Word network.
Ron is a member, worship leader, and associate Elder at Pentecostal Cathedral Church of God In Christ in South Bend, Indiana where Bishop Donald L. Alford Sr. is the founder and pastor. He is also the minister of music and worship leader at Agape Christian Ministries in Paterson, New Jersey where the pastor is Rev. Dr. James A. Kuykendall.
Ron Bishop & "Judah First" has undertaken its mission of "kingdom work" and is destined for greatness. This highly anointed and gifted group acknowledges that 'great sound' is important, but 'soul winning' is most important. Their first "live" CD, "Exalted Praise" was released in the fall of 2005 and has received rave reviews. They recently recorded an anointed "live" praise & worship CD which will be entitled "More Of You", and hope to release it February 2010. The midwest is ready to unleash its best kept secret!
