Roger Hardin is a fingerstyle guitarist originally from Cowpens, Sc. Home of the legendary jazz guitarist, Hank "sugarfoot" Garland. He was deeply drawn to the playing styles of Chet Atkins when he was very young. Around age 12, he was given his first guitar and started playing along with his Chet Atkins, Hank Garland, and Dwayne Friend Vinyls. His hard work paid off and he recieved a music scholarship for classical guitar performance from Lee University and studied under Mario Abril at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. Throughout the years he remained honing his thumbpicking skills and working on complex fingerstyle arrangements. In 2002, it started paying off with sweeping one national, and two international fingerstyle guitar contests in the same year. Shortly after, Roger's self produced cd, "Turn Right, Go Straight" was released. Since winning guitar contests and releasing a debut cd, he has also had the privelage to be a feature performer at CAAS(chet atkins appreciation society) every year since 2003 which includes players such as Tommy Emmanuel, Buster B. Jones, and Muriel Anderson. What's drawn people to Roger's playing is his originality with arrangements of songs like "Jerry's Breakdown", and "Sugarfoot Rag"
