Is Rodeo Kill alt country, X/cross country, cowpunk, americana, progressive country, no depression, or something else? They prefer the term outlaw country. Loud rock-country. Songs about broken hearts, whiskey, beer, death, fire, and outlaws.

"Outlaws, wannabe renegades, Cash fans, and others merely deranged from too much Jim Beam on a dirt-scorched afternoon are sure to dig this alt-country plea to "Old Hank" from Olympia, Washington alt-country band Rodeo Kill."

Rodeo Kill was formed in the spring of 2002 and specialized in amped up country classics by the likes of Willie Nelson, Waylon Jenning, David Allen Coe, and Johnny Cash. Playing all covers at their first show, Rodeo Kill thumped out a set of country drinking standards and mixed in a country-fied version of Iron Maiden's The Trooper to the delight of the crowd.

Soon, the originals follow. Old Hank was featured on several compilations and became a staple of Rodeo Kill's set. In September of 2004, Rodeo Kill played its first all original set, included two instrumentals based on fiddle standards that have been adapted to Rodeo Kill's style.

Rodeo Kill played over 50 shows in their first two years. Whiskey soaked bars, car shows, parties, benefits, almost anywhere they could preach their gospel of whiskey, broken hearts, and bleeding eardrums.
