Through catchy songwriting, tight rhythms, quirky lyrics, smiling musicians, laid back rock and roll, weird cover songs, big harmonies, doo-wop songs, and sing-a-longs, a Max G and the Spots show is really fun to go to. Our songs look at life's complexities with a sense of humor and a desire for simplicity. Our audiences always sing, dance, laugh, and shout obscene things at us. We'd love for you to come out to a show and join this community. To all of the people who have paid their hard earned money to come to our shows or buy our music: Your support means a ton to us and we can't thank you enough.

Our current lineup features a departure from the earlier sound of the band, with Max G playing acoustic guitar and singing, Steve Breman playing bass guitar, Chris Harris playing drums, and on most shows, Nicole Berke and Jess Baggia singing harmony vocals. We love having guest performers from our home music scene in Somerville join us when they can, and who that ends up being varies from show to show.

What are people saying about Max G and The Spots?!? All sorts of things!

I've got to tell you, the first time I heard the name of your band I

didn't get it. Duh! -T Max (The Noise)

I met a Berkley-eating, granola-wearing hippie yesterday.

Then I couldn't get the phrase out of my head.

The Spots should write a song about it. -Mathilde

If i get one of The Spots' slacker-pop/rock songs stuck in my head, suddenly, my attitude for the day is "ehhh whatever, sleeping through class is way better than going." Problem is, I have one of their songs stuck in my head everyday. The Spots are the reason why i'm going to fail out of school and end up selling crack behind redbones. -Stephie

Please don't implicate the Spots for your slacker ways. The slack is inside you - we just bring out. Like a therapist (a non-behavioral therapist). -our very own Steve
