ROCKET K

ROCKET Kは2001年、日本のインディーレーベルの老舗であるKOGA Records/Grooovie Drunker Recordsオーナーであり、渋谷系の人気バンドであったVENUS PETERのベーシストであったKOGAが中心となり結成。メンバーは、元O(オー)のAKA。そして2007年より新メンバーにKAZUYAとAIが加入し現メンバーとなる。

サウンドは彼等のル−ツとも言える60’s~70’sポップスを通過したようなどこか懐かしいくスウィートなメロディーに、これでもかと掛け合うAIのコーラス。また紅一点AIがメインを取る楽曲も彼らを語る為の重要なファクターだ。そんな珠玉のメロディにパンク、モッズ、ハードロック等、彼等のルーツミュージック の良質な部分をうまくミックスしたかのようなサウンドがグラインドする日本において唯一無二のROCKET K流パワーポップサウンドである！

2010年現在、フルアルバム３枚、カバーアルバム１枚、ミニアルバム２枚を発表。その他コンピレーションアルバム多数参加。最新作は2010年1月発表のアルバム「KISS MY ROCKS」。

Rocket K was founded in 2001 by Koga, owner of veteran Japanese indie label Koga Records/Grooovie Drunker Records and ex-bassist of popular Shibuya-kei band Venus Peter, and Aka, a former member of O. In 2007, they added new members Kazuya and Ai, forming their current line-up. Their sound draws from the band members’ roots, with beautiful, sweet melodies sent from 60s and 70s pop music and Ai’s backing vocals. The lone woman in the group, she is an important factor in the group’s sound, whether she’s singing lead or backing up the rest of the band.

Rocket K adds their skillful melodies to the best parts of punk, mod and hard rock, pulled from their respective musical backgrounds and mixed together to create their unique, fluid power-pop sound. As of 2010, they have released three full albums, one cover album and two mini albums, as well as contributing to numerous compilation albums.

Their most recent album, Kiss my Rocks, was released in January 2010.
