Rob Medina lebt und liebt seine Heimatstadt Stuttgart seit nunmehr 27 Jahren, was mit Sicherheit auch auf das ausgeprägte Nachtleben der süddeutschen Metropole zurückzuführen ist, mit der er sich früh identifizieren konnte.Seine ersten Gigs führten ihn ins Barbarella und den Beatkeller. Mit der Einladung auf das Himmelreich Open Air 1998, war der Sprung zur ersten Großveranstaltung geschafft. Im neuen Jahrtausend strukturierte sich Rob Medina neu und veranstaltete mit Feunden erste eigene Partys im Beatkeller, Barbarella und C22. Zeitgleich mit seinen ersten Residencies im Zapata und der Bett-Lounge, bei denen housige Beats im Vordergrund standen, gründete Rob Medina zusammen mit Carl Karson die Live-Combo Modern Media Project, die 2002 in Doomloops umgetauft wurde und sich ganz klar mit technoidem Sound identifizierte. Drei Jahre später folgte das Studio-Projekt "a.m.Piper", bei dem Paul Jey das Trio komplettierte. Durch ideologische Diskrepanzen, die Position des Projekts in der Marktwirtschaft betreffend, schied Paul Jey ein halbes Jahr später wieder aus. In Folge dessen war recht schnell klar, dass dieser leere Platz von dem langjährigen Freund des Hauses, Chriss Sonaxx besetzt werden würde. Durch Remixe für die Labels Hilltribe, Electronic Cowboys und Kisu rec., zwei Live-Touren durch den Süden und Westen Deutschlands, wurde der Grundstein für eine längerfristige Zusammenarbeit der drei gelegt. Derzeit tingelt Rob Medina als DJ und zusammen mit seinen beiden Gefährten durch Deutschland um den "a.m.Piper" Sound unter das Volk zu bringen, der in Worte nur schwer zu fassen ist und somit einfach gehört werden muss.

Rob Medina has been living in his beloved hometown Stuttgart for 27 years now, which certainly has a lot to do with the enormous nightlife this city has to offer and that very early he could identify himself with. His first gigs took him to places called “Barbarella” and “Beatkeller” for example. With the invitation to the “Himmelreich Open Air” in 1998, he was able to join his first big event. After the millennium, Rob Medina gave himself a whole new structure and together with two friends organized his first own parties in the “Beatkeller”, “Barbarella” and “C22” for example. While being a resident at the “Zapata” and the “Bett-Lounge”, where housebeats played the biggest role, Rob Medina and Carl Karlson brought the Live-Combo “Modern Media Project” -changed into “Doomloops” in 2002 –to life, which clearly identified itself with the technoism sound. Three years later came the Studio-Project “a.m. Piper”, at which Paul Jey joined the two of them. Because of the ideological discrepancies, caused by the position of the project in the enterprise, Paul Jey left half a year later. After that they knew pretty fast that this empty space could only be filled by the good and longtime friend Chris Sonaxx. The remixes for the labels “Hilltribe”, “Electronic Cowboys” and “Kisu Rec.” and two live-tours through south and west Germany were the beginning of a long lasting partnership between the three of them. These days the DJ Rob Medina and his two companions travel through Germany, to bring the “a.m. Piper” sound to the people, which you can hardly describe in words and thats why definitely needs to be listened to.
