Roman Chowdhury's lovingly crafted mix of atmospheric chillout und jazzy acoustic pop connects continents and leads the listener sweetly down the winding roads of the Global Village.
Roman's colourful music, melodies und poetry plunge you into a soulful, subtle melding of Indian classical and western instruments. Guitars und keyboard sounds weave into sarode, tabla and Indian vocals creating a Eurasian "World Fusion".
Roman Chowdhury's music reflects his bi-cultural heritage (Bangladesh/Germany) and his lyrics deal with emotional, deeply personal and political experiences – from the perspective of a "Person of Colour, made in Germany".

Born and brought up in Germany, Roman Chowdhury's music and poetry reflect his bi-cultural heritage, his mother being German and his father, Bengali. In his first solo album, to be released in 2008, he has succeeded in bringing together, both musically and personally, musicians of extraordinary quality and depth.
Roman has performed and recorded with various nationally renowned jazz, pop and world music formations, like Gefilte Fish (FARAO classics,GEFILTE FISH) and the legendary Weather Girls, playing with outstanding musicians like Joe Rappaport, Enrique Ugarte, Andrea Giani and Ranajit Sengupta in Germany, Austria, Greece, India, Bangladesh and the USA, appearing on several occasions on German national TV.
A pioneer in the creation of a second generation German-South Asian community, he was involved in founding "Munich Masala", an association organizing cultural events like documentary-film screenings, concerts, readings and desi club nights to promote a greater awareness of the diversity of South Asian diaspora culture in Germany. These efforts began a movement that has spread throughout Germany, leading to Roman Chowdhury's touring the country as a popular DJ of new South Asian sounds.
