Rick Oliver and The Noise are a twenty-something, six foot-something four piece straight out of Essex. Having honed his song writing craft with a variety of bands throughout the years Rick finally emerged with a signature sound, melding infectious melodies with intelligent 'mature beyond his years' lyrics, their hearts along with their influences are definitely worn on their sleeves.

It was these qualities which led to Rick's signing with London based indie publishers, Bucks Music in 2003, and subsequently Rick and brother Nick recording a faithful rendition of the Flying Burrito Brothers' classic 'Christine's Tune' for the 2004 soundtrack to the movie Grand Theft Parsons, joining tracks by Starsailor, Gillian Welch, Wilco & Evan Dando.

Having recorded his own songs at home studio, Longhole Studios, utilising his multi instrumentalist skills, his debut album Continual Battle Of Thoughts was the first release through the newly resurrected Fly Records in February 2006, and received favourable press attention from both Uncut and Classic Rock magazines and The Sunday Times.

Singles 'Could It Be That Bad?' and 'Recurring Song' both received airplay on Xfm and Arrow DAB radio and a short promotional radio tour followed with sessions recorded for Xfm, Kerrang! and BBC radio.

Live, they exude passion and energy for their craft, whilst maintaining the sound which led to The Sunday Times' Stewart Lee proclaiming that the album will "become a quietly acclaimed classic".

Their latest independently recorded and released EP 'The War That Won You Back' is available from Zingg Records (www.zingg.co.uk)
