Bio

Taking the hit music scene by storm is nothing new for singer, songwriter and producer Rich Cronin. From writing what was intended to be a scrapbook of teenage memories for his friends, to blowing up the pop music world, Cronin’s seemingly overnight success is really the result of hard work and perseverance. In fact, when asked how “overnight” his success came to him, he says, “not even close.”

Born and raised outside of Boston, at age 15, Rich Cronin began writing songs to instrumental tracks. “I’d buy singles for the instrumentals,” says Cronin who would then master his own creations. Inspired by artists such as Run DMC and Slick Rick, New Edition and New Kids on the Block, Cronin set out to make his mark on your FM dial; and so he did. Brought into the studio by a DJ friend who labeled him “the lyte funkie one,” burning embers were fanned to flames and LFO was born.

LFO was best known for the 1 hit “Summer Girls” (a/k/a the Abercrombie and Fitch Song) and top 5 single “Girl on TV.” Both songs, along with all of the music on the double platinum selling group’s follow up album “Life is Good” were penned by Cronin. The group became a staple on MTV’s TRL, sold over two million albums and four million singles.

Most recently, Cronin was a leading force behind the VH-1 Reality TV show “Mission: Man Band”, which continues to air on the network internationally. The eight episodes feature Cronin, along with three other celebrities who achieved initial fame through their membership in multi platinum selling “boy-band” ventures (Chris Kirkpatrick of N*Sync, Jeff Timmons of 98 Degrees, and Bryan Abrams of Color Me Badd). The show will follow their individual lives after their catapult to stardom and unites them to record a collaborative release for global distribution.

May 16, 2008 marked the release date of Rich's first solo album, a project which was 3 years in the making and includes music which chronicles his journey from Summer Girls to now. GET IT HERE.

While Cronin’s successes as a musical artist and all around entertainer may appear to be like that of a quick temperature rising, it is his longevity in an otherwise short-term profession which is most impressive. Writing for other artists is only part of Rich Cronin’s continued tenure in the music industry. He also writes for commercials and soundtracks and is heavily involved with Loose Cannons, an off the wall rap duo including himself and former Bad Ronald emcee, Doug Ray. A sample of Rich’s solo recordings are evidence of his diversity and ability to create, perform and produce inside many musical genres including Hip Hop, Pop and Rock. Rich Cronin’s style is undoubtedly unique. His lyrics are gripping and pointed accounts of life before and after stardom and his music is sure to continue making its mark within the industry and, ultimately, on the charts worldwide.
